MHP is expanding its laboratory control system and launching a calibration laboratory to provide high-precision metrological support. It is designed to meet the needs of both internal enterprises of the holding and external customers for high-precision calibration and metrological support.
The new laboratory will ensure a high level of technical competence due to its compliance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025. It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that surpasses even most national metrological institutes in the world. In addition, a team of experts with many years of experience will be able to verify the competence of other laboratories, as well as provide professional advice and training in the field of metrology.
“The calibration laboratory is an important step in strengthening MHP’s quality and safety control system. The company’s laboratory control is highly specialized: all laboratory departments perform about 11 thousand tests every day, from feed to finished products. The launch of the new calibration laboratory expands our capabilities and allows us to meet not only internal but also external requests for calibration services with maximum accuracy and efficiency,” says Olesya Taran, Head of MHP’s Laboratory Control Department.
The calibration laboratory already provides services for the verification of scales, weights, thermometers, thermo-hygrometers, climate chambers, laboratory sieves, dispensers, pH meters, microscopes and other instruments. By 2025, the laboratory will be accredited by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU) and will master new methods, including calibration of spectrometers, stopwatches and calipers.
The new laboratory is a logical continuation of the development of MHP’s laboratory control system. This system includes 37 in-house laboratories, including a powerful Laboratory Center, which includes physicochemical, veterinary, and agrochemical laboratories. The center provides more than 500 types of research covering all stages of agricultural activities – from testing raw materials to controlling finished products.
This year, the Laboratory Center was re-evaluated by the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU) and expanded its scope of accreditation to include testing of food products (including milk), raw materials of animal and plant origin, water, feed and mixed fodder. The tests are carried out in terms of microbiological, mycological, physicochemical and safety indicators, as well as determining the content of GMOs and their derivatives. In addition, the center is accredited according to ISO/IEC 17025 and certified according to GMP+ requirements.
