Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on Monday that she would like to avoid imposing retaliatory tariffs on the United States “as much as possible,” UNN reports, citing ABC.

Sheinbaum said Mexico could impose similar tariffs on steel and aluminum, but is concerned about the consequences for Mexican business.

“We prefer to continue the dialogue before taking any further action,” she said during her daily press conference.
