Korean companies have proposed a new technology for laying asphalt for Ukraine, which has already been patented in the country. This is reported by the State Recovery Agency. The head of the Agency, Serhii Sukhomlyn, discussed cooperation in the road industry with representatives of POSCO International Corporation and the SG company. POSCO is the largest steel company in South Korea. She announced her interest in rebuilding Ukraine as early as 2023. “In the Republic of Korea, this technology has been working for 10 years. And it has proven its effectiveness during this period. There is less noise, less dust on the roads, a minimum of surface damage. And it is much cheaper. The restoration agency is interested in such cooperation,” Sukhomlin said. According to this technology, only the top layer of the coating is replaced, using slag instead of crushed stone. The SG company is conducting the necessary calculations and preparing for the certification of the formula. After the completion of these stages, a trial laying of the coating using Korean technology is planned on a section of one of the Ukrainian roads. The Agency hopes that this will happen already in the spring.
