From January 1, 2025, gas transportation tariffs for domestic consumers will increase fourfold. Such a decision was made by the National Energy Regulatory Commission at a meeting on December 30 in connection with the termination of transit of Russian gas, LIGA.net reports. “In 2024, 85% of the revenue will be the transportation of gas originating from the Russian Federation. That is, 15% is what remains to us from domestic customers. The tariff increase is not enough for full compensation, but we agree, we understand that the economy of Ukraine needs considered decisions,” said Dmytro Lippa, General Director of the Ukrainian Railways Operator, at the meeting. He assured that the GTS Operator, on its part, has taken all measures to reduce costs: compressor stations are closed and conserved, the number of personnel and expenses are optimized.Advertisement: According to the decision of the NCRECP, the tariff for natural gas transportation will increase from UAH 124.16 to UAH 501.97 for 1000 cubic meters m, or by almost 305%. This will be an additional burden for industrial enterprises, warned business representatives who took part in the meeting. “For our industry, this is an increase in annual costs by UAH 300 million. In the current conditions, against the background of the increase in electricity tariffs, we are simply not able to withstand such a significant additional load,” warned the head of the Federation of Metallurgists Serhii Bilenkyi.Advertisement: Read also: Zero transit: is Ukraine ready to stop the transportation of Russian gas
