In Ukraine, the number of registered natural persons entrepreneurs increased by 119 thousand in 2024. This was announced by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev, with reference to the State Statistics Service. As of January 1, 2025, the number of registered sole traders was 1,707,677, which is 7.5% (or 118,943) more than on January 1, 2024. “The number of registered FOPs in 2024 did not decrease, but increased. This is taking into account the closed and, accordingly, dropped from the register (in connection with the detinization and closure of “dormant”) FOPs,” the People’s Deputy emphasized. Advertising: Hetmantsev added that the most popular KVEDs IT and retail remain the most registered FPOs. Five types of economic activity and by the number of FOPs as of January 1, 2025: computer programming (147.8 thousand FOPs), retail trade in non-specialized stores mainly of food, beverages and tobacco products (91.2 thousand), other types of retail trade in non-specialized stores (75.2 thousand), services of hairdressers and beauty salons (71.6 thousand), retail trade from trays and markets (59.4 thousand). At the same time, although computer programming remains the most popular type of economic activity in terms of the number of registered FOPs, in 2024 their number in this direction decreased by 1.6% (-2.4 thousand). Advertisement: In 2024, the share of FOPs where headed by a woman continued to increase, reaching almost parity with men. In particular, as of January 1, 2025, the number of FOPs opened by women was 49.4%, by men – 50.6%. A year ago, the proportion was 47.5% to 52.5%, and two years ago it was 45.9% to 54.1%. More than half of registered FOPs are in Kyiv and five oblasts: Kyiv – 14.3% of all registered ones; Dnipropetrovsk region – 8.2%; Kharkiv region – 7.6%; Lviv region – 7.4%; Kyiv region – 6.6%; Odesa region – 6.5%. Over the past year, the number of registered FOPs increased more in relative terms in Kyiv (+11.%), Volyn (+12.1%), Rivne (+12.4%) oblasts. The number of registered FOPs is expected to decrease in Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson regions. We will remind: On the “Diya” portal, the automatic opening of the FOP has been restored.
