The number of Ukrainians in Poland who work legally and are on the insurance register has increased to 779,300 people as of the end of October 2024.

According to Bankier.pl, 755,000 Ukrainians were legally working in Poland at the beginning of 2024, 762,200 at the end of March, and 771,000 at the end of June.

Of all Ukrainians working in Poland, there are 406,500 men and 372,700 women. The majority of employed people with Ukrainian passports are aged 30-44.

In total, 1.17 million foreigners work legally in Poland. Citizens of Belarus are the second largest group of working foreigners (135,200 people). Citizens of Georgia are in third place – 26,800 people.

Ukrainians who have arrived in Poland since February 24, 2022 can receive a PESEL number after confirming their identity, and their stay in the country is considered legal. But Ukrainians may lose their right to legal residence if they leave Poland for more than one month. This restriction does not apply to persons who were sent to work abroad by organizations operating in Poland.
