The Austrian gas company OMV said that Russia’s Gazprom had informed it of the suspension of supplies from Saturday, November 16.
This is stated in the company’s message, which is quoted by “European Truth”.
As noted in OMV, Russia’s Gazprom announced the “suspension – and thus reduction to 0% – of natural gas supply” from 06:00 on November 16.
The suspension came after the Austrian energy company said it was suspending payments to Gazprom for compensation arbitration award in the amount of 230 million euros.
Russian gas supplies to Austria stop just in time for the temperature drop and the beginning of the heating season.
OMV previously predicted a similar option and assured that they have diversified gas supply with the help of non-Russian sources, as well as additional capacities.
Meanwhile, on the eve of talks about the termination of gas supplies from Russia to Austria led to rising prices for blue fuel in Europe.
