Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko commented on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico’s statement about his intention to cut off electricity supplies to Ukraine. During a telethon, he noted that such a decision would be a gross violation of European regulations, UNN reports.

Details

Halushchenko has already sent a letter to the EU Energy Commissioner, ENTSO-E and the Energy Community.

The minister said that in any case, Ukraine has a mechanism to replace these imports with other neighbors who are ready to increase their respective capacities. Such negotiations with partners have already been held.

Herman Halushchenko also emphasized that the only reason for importing electricity from Slovakia is the actions of the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, which occupied and destroyed part of the generating capacity.

“We need to understand that electricity imports, and our president has been very clear about this, are a consequence of the fact that Russia has occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP and has been systematically destroying generation in Ukraine for three years,” the Energy Minister summarized.

Recall
