Chernyshov told the IMF about the challenges for the economy through the departure of Ukrainians abroad

Viceremier and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine Alexey Chernyshov met with representatives of the International Monetary Fund, headed by the IMF Mission Chairman in Ukraine Gavin Gray – the Ministry of National Unity reported on February 20.

“The parties discussed key areas of cooperation and possible IMF support mechanisms, in particular in matters of integration and social adaptation of Ukrainians abroad,” the statement reads.

The department adds that the Fund’s representatives have presented the work of the Ministry of National Unity. Also, the head of the ministry spoke about the difficulties that arose after the departure of millions of Ukrainians abroad through the war:

“The departure of millions of Ukrainians has become a serious challenge for the economy. After all, millions of professionals will be needed to restore and grow after the war and we need to bring them to the projects in Ukraine now. We need to compete for our citizens, creating attractive conditions for return – economic incentives, career opportunities. But all this is possible with the implementation of reforms and economic growth. ”
