It is stated that thanks to indexation for more than 10 million citizens, the pension will increase by 11.5%.
The indexation amount is calculated on the basis of official economic development indicators in 2024: consumer price increase – 12%; The increase in the average wage for 2022-2024-11%.
According to the resolution, pensions for the following categories of pensioners will be indexed since March 1:
- 9.2 million pensioners who are assigned a pension on a general basis;
- 672 thousand pensioners of power agencies;
- 98 thousand people receiving a disability pension and in case of loss of a breadwinner as a result of the Chornobyl disaster;
- 79.6 thousand pensioners with disabilities as a result of war and combatants who receive minimal pension payments;
- 23.4 thousand pensioners-iconic employees of local self-government bodies and civil servants.
“This decision we will correct the imperfection of the pension legislation for the third time, due to which the lowest pensions during indexation have hardly increased. Therefore, this year, the lowest pensions will be indexed, which by 2023 did not fall under indexation, ”said Minister of Social Policy Oksana Zholnovich.
According to her, the average forecast level of pensions after indexation will be UAH 556, the average pension in Ukraine will increase from UAH 5789 to UAH 6345.
Also, on April 1, there will be an automatic recalculation of pensions for 629 thousand working pensioners (taking into account their updated insurance experience).
At the same time, the government is said to have temporary restrictions on the maximum pension indexation. The amount of indexation results will be limited to UAH 1,500 for all pension recipients, regardless of the category. The minimum increase in pensions will be at least 100 UAH.
