It is likely that the real economic growth in Ukraine in 2024 will be about 3%.

About this in X social networks reports the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain with reference to intelligence data, transmits Ukrinform.

Intelligence experts note that the growth of the Ukrainian economy by 3% this year after a drop of 29% in 2022 and real growth of 5% in 2023 indicates a recovery trend.

They noted that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts average annual inflation at 5.8% in 2024, down from a peak of 20% in 2022.

“It is expected that in 2025 defense spending will make up about 60% of Ukraine’s state expenditures,” the summary states.

Britain’s Ministry of Defense estimates that Russia’s economy is likely to grow by around 3.6% this year, a continuation of the upward trend after the initial economic shock caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

“It is quite likely that this growth will be caused by government spending, in particular on the military-industrial complex,” analysts emphasize.

However, Russia’s economic growth is forecast to slow in 2025 due to inflation, labor shortages and sanctions, the intelligence report said.

The UK Ministry of Defense added that in 2025, Russian defense spending will increase further to 32% of total budget spending, while other areas of the budget, such as social spending, will experience cuts.

According to analysts, the increase in government spending in the Russian Federation will most likely increase the existing inflationary pressure in the economy, as the average annual inflation in 2024 is forecast at the level of 7.9%.

We will remind:

International Monetary Fund improved prognosis growth of the real GDP of Ukraine to 4% in 2024, as well as to 2.5-3.5% in the following year.
