$1 million for women’s entrepreneurship: grant program winners announced

65 Ukrainian female founders, managers and owners of small and medium-sized businesses received grants under the program “CREATE!” with a budget of $1,000,000 for business development in the field of production and processing. The grantees directed the received funds to scale up their business: they entered new markets, expanded the product line, automated production and improved quality. Among the winners: the head of the family dairy farm Nataliya Kushnir, the owner of the paving stone production Oksana Bortnyk, the director of the foundry and mechanical plant in Pokrovsk Nataliya Zavhorodnya, the owner of the production of clothing and equipment for the military Kateryna Zakharchuk, the founder of the underwear and clothing brand for pregnant and nursing mothers Yuliya Klyuchkovska and 60 other Ukrainian women. Within the grant program “CREATE!” businesses of various industries were supported. Food and light industry (in particular, clothing manufacturing) are leading — 26% and 15% of winners, respectively. Grantees are also developing their businesses in the field of furniture production (11%), decor production (8%), jewelry (5%), cosmetics (3%) and building materials (3%).
