In order for peace to win, it is necessary that Russia changes dramatically. Or they will have to change around the world, as it is 80 years ago, when everyone realized that it is impossible to calm evil: it must be dealt with. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in an address from the Center of Kiev on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in the Second World War of 1939-1945.
– Each of us wants silence, there is a victory of peace. We We fight for it. And we understand what it takes. Or Russia has to change radically. Or you will have to change. Just as the world did it 80 years ago. When everyone finally became obvious: it is impossible to calm evil. It must be fighting. Together. To fight decisively. By force. By pressure. On the battlefield, the diplomatic arena, in the economic space, everywhere, where it is possible. To really “never again”. Or the world will have to carry out the denacification and demilitarization of Russia, – Zelensky said.
He stressed that 80 years ago, a victory over Nazism in the Second World War was won. Today, this day is reminiscent of an important pattern that any evil inevitably ends.
– Today is the day of memory and victory over Nazism. The day we celebrate with the whole world – with all who fought for a lifetime 80 years ago to lose evil to “never again”. Unfortunately, three years ago, everything was repeated again. And just as once, a siren alarm was overcome over Kiev. Evil again went to our land Ukrainian. On the morning of February 24, Khreshchatyk was empty – neither cars nor people. Now is life here, – the President said.
He stressed that three years ago, on Independence Day on Khreshchatyk, Russian equipment was burned and that “only such a parade can be obtained here.”
– Here, where our desire to live today is, to be. Today there are Ukrainians here, Ukrainians go their streets under their flags. Thanks to their heroes, our soldiers. Who has protected, protects the country now throughout the front line, far from their home, so that this life is possible … Any occupier eventually leaves our land. Always life returns. And that’s what we stand today. This is what happens one day, ”Zelensky emphasized.
