Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda. The meeting was held in Vilnius, where on June 2, the Summit of the Bucharest Nine and Nordic countries took place. This was reported by the President’s office.
The meeting was held the next day after the second round of the President of Poland, who won Karol Navrotsky. His candidacy was supported by the Law and Justice Party, also represented by Andrzej Duda. Therefore, Zelensky congratulated Poland on holding the presidential election and Karol Navrotsky – with victory on them.
– Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the continuation of assistance from Poland is important not only for Ukraine, but for the whole of Europe. Andrzej Duda assured of his consistent support of Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO, – reads the website of the President of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Andrzej Duda to visit Ukraine. The President of Poland has confirmed that he would visit before the end of his cadence.
In addition, the Presidents of Ukraine and Poland discussed bilateral relations, diplomatic work and the importance of pressure on Russia to achieve a just and long peace.
– Leaders have the same position: it is important to increase the joint pressure of the United States, Europe and other countries of the world on Russia and continue the search for decisions that will help stop it, – assured the Ukrainian leader’s press service.
- Earlier on June 2, Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Karol Navrotsky on the victory in the election of the President of Poland. In his account on the social network X (former Twitter), the President of Ukraine wrote that he counts on unchanged fruitful cooperation with Poland and personally with the President.
- On the eve of the second round of elections, Duda stated that most Ukrainians did not know about the Volyn tragedy, as Volodymyr Zelenskyy did not know about the presidency about it. Also, the President of Poland called an absurd situation when he comes to Ukraine and is referred to by people with “in Bandera colors”.
