Zelensky met with background Der Layan and Meloni, and also discussed the conditions of peace with the old man

On Saturday, April 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a number of important meetings with the leaders of the parking countries after the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis. In particular, he met with the President of the European Commission Ursula von Der Lyen and with the Prime Minister of Britain Kiir Starm. Zelensky also had a separate meeting with Italy’s premiere George Meloni.

The meeting with von der Liaien lasted for about half an hour and took place behind the closed doors in the format of Tet-a-Tet. Among the topics of conversation include European integration, negotiations on accession to the EU, security situation, continuation of sanctions policy.

– You can count on our support at the negotiation table to achieve just and long peace. Today we also discussed the steps that Ukraine is taking to earn our place in our family of peoples, – wrote the head of the EC in the results of the meeting.

President Zelensky also met with the premiere of Italy Meloni after the meeting she said it was a “historical day”.

– To see Donald Trump and Vladimir Zelensky, who speak of peace at the funeral of the Pope Peace – this is of such a great importance, – the head of the Italian government emphasized.

In addition, Zelensky reported that during a meeting with the UK Prime Minister Kir, the old man in Italy discussed steps to establish a complete ceasefire and to develop further security guarantees.

– the steps necessary to establish a complete and unconditional ceasefire and to develop further safety guarantees – the main topics of our conversation with Kir is the old man … The unconditional ceasefire should be in the sky, on the sea and on Earth and to become the first step to establishing a fair peace with reliable safety guarantees. And only strong guarantees can provide long peace and protection of human lives, – Zelensky wrote.

• President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump did not meet for the second time in the Vatican on April 26, as expected. After the funeral of Pope Francis, Trump returned to the United States.
• On the morning of April 26, the presidents met in St. Peter’s Basilica. The leaders agreed to continue the negotiations.
