Zelensky announced the third stage of exchange of prisoners

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday the third stage of exchange of prisoners with Russia. The head of state said this in his traditional evening address.

– The exchange was continued today. Another 307 of our soldiers returned home. Ordinary and sergeants. Most of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are also the National Guard, the State Border Service. Of all these people, 273 were captured in Donetsk region, much in 2022, also from the territories of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv regions, Luhansk region. In just two days of exchanges, 697 Ukrainians are already at home.

Tomorrow is the third stage. They must release a thousand of our people these days, ”the President said.

At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that the task is to release absolutely anyone who is now held in Russia, “and this task is common to our intelligence, for our diplomats, for our entire state.”

The President also mentioned Russian shelling of Kiev and other cities and stressed that “Russia fills with grief, murder daily, simply delayed the war.” He called on the United States, Europe and other partners to a tough reaction.

• On May 23, Ukraine and Russia held the first part of an agreement on exchange of 1000 per 1000, in which 390 people managed to return. Of these, 270 military and 120 civilians.
• On May 24, another 307 Ukrainian defenders were returned from Russian captivity. They are all men of ordinary and sergeant.
