In Ukraine, on Saturday, November 15, the reception of requests for receiving one thousand hryvnias within the framework of “Winter aid” began. According to this initiative, Ukrainians can receive one-time financial assistance, which can be used not only in the current year, but also in the next one – until June. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi during the usual video address.

– Today, our initiative of winter assistance has already started, and in the first 2 hours of submission of requests there were already half a million requests – for 1,000 hryvnias for each Ukrainian who needs help: adults and children, and it is felt for the family. The funds can be used – and not only this year, but also next year until June – to pay for the “community”, medicines, domestic products, Ukrainian books, and, of course, it will be possible to donate this money to volunteers and organizations that support our Ukrainian army. The main thing is to submit a request through “Diya” or Ukrposhta and do it before Christmas, December 24, – noted the president.

Zelensky also clarified that the money should arrive ten days after the application is submitted. He also assured that there are funds for the initiative, and last year more than 14 million Ukrainians took advantage of winter aid, and this year they also expect significant benefits from its implementation.

The president also emphasized that receiving these funds does not affect the calculation of subsidies: winter aid is an additional form of support. He also added that, at the same time, other steps are being implemented to support Ukrainians in the winter period – these are, in particular, fixed prices for electricity and gas.

• The government expects from 10 to 14 million recipients of one-time state cash assistance under the “Winter Support” initiative in the amount of UAH 1,000. for adults and children, as well as UAH 6.5 thousand. for the most vulnerable categories. The expected costs are UAH 14 billion.
• On November 1, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ordered the government to prepare a comprehensive program of “winter support” for the population, based on the example of the one that operated in 2024. The initiative should start working already in December of this year.
