What exchange rate of the dollar awaits Ukrainians at the end of 2024: an analyst’s forecast

The expert noted that the higher the exchange rate, the greater the hryvnia income. / photo UNIANFinancial analyst Andriy Shevchyshyn believes that the dollar will only increase in value against the hryvnia until the end of 2024. According to him, the currency may exceed the mark of 42 hryvnias.

The expert said in a commentary on Channel 24 that the stability and regularity of Ukraine’s funding from partners will determine whether Kyiv will be able to fulfill the budget for the next year. He noted that the higher the exchange rate, the greater the hryvnia income.

“If we expect 35-38 billion foreign aid next year, then we understand that one hryvnia devaluation gives us corresponding additional income,” the analyst noted.

Shevchyshyn also predicted the dollar exchange rate in Ukraine until the end of the year:

I expect that we will reach 42.7 hryvnias per dollar by the end of this year.

For his part, the president of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, Andriy Dubas, believes that by the end of 2024, the dollar may be in the range of 41.3-41.7 hryvnias per dollar.

In addition, banker Taras Lisovyi believes that the dollar is unlikely to begin to depreciate against the hryvnia, on the contrary, the currency will continue its slow upward trend until the end of this year.
