The death of hundreds of thousands of Russian soldiers for the Kremlin is a slight loss, but the experience gained and the unbroken military economy seems much more important.

Business Insider writes about it.

The publication emphasizes that NATO has repeatedly threatened Moscow, and now Russia is on military rails, restoring and reconstructing its army, producing more weapons and even combining forces with countries hostile to the West.

Gabrielius Landsbergis, who by the end of last year was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, told Business Insider that Russia was renewing tanks production and establishing drones. He also emphasized that the Russian army now has a wide experience of maintaining a modern full -scale war, while the Western armies are focused on the fight against terrorism, and not on preparing for a great war with an almost equal opponent.

“I would probably say that Russia is probably more dangerous than ever,” Landsbergis said.

Keyr Giles, a senior consultant of the Russian and Eurasia program in the British Analytical Center of Catham House, stressed that Russia has demonstrated its ability to persuade itself of its unnecessality and then attack its neighbors. That is why it can attack NATO without realizing how devastating the consequences of such an attack will be.

He also noted that significant losses of troops are not a reason for Russia to give up aggression because the Kremlin considers people a cheap asset.

In addition, General Christopher Cavoli, commander of the US European Command, recalled that in the war against Ukraine Russia lost a lot of land equipment and infantry, but aviation and fleet were generally minimal. And this despite the fact that the Russian military economy only increases production.

“The narrative that Russia has exhausted is the most dangerous. Honestly, I think that Russia is not just not exhausted. I think it is clearly on the war path,” Landbergis said.

The former Lithuanian minister noted that his country is preparing by the time Russia would look for a reason to attack Europe. Estonia does the same. Both countries are now planning to spend 5% of their GDP on defense, which is more proportional than in the US.

“We need to prepare, the most dangerous times ahead,” Landbergis stressed.

Russian threat in EuropeAccording to UNIAN, Germany’s Defense Minister Boris Pistorius believes that Russia can attack NATO countries approximately 5 years. It takes so much time to reorganize and prepare the Russian army for such confrontation.

The possibility of such an attack by Russia is recognized by NATO Secretary -General Mark Rutte.

Military analyst Edward Lucas is convinced that, unlike the invasion of Ukraine, the Russian war against NATO will at least at the beginning be conducted by hybrid methods. The purpose of Moscow will first destroy mutual trust between the countries of the block.
