On September 15, US Presidential Administration Donald Trump reported that Washington and Beijing had a compromise that would allow Tiktok to continue operating in the US market. This is the result of many years of negotiations initiated in the first term of Trump’s presidency. The information was confirmed by CNN.
US Department of Finance Head Scott Bessent stated that the parties have agreed the basic principles of the Agreement, and the final signing is planned to hold 18 September during Trump’s meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
– President Trump was an architect of this agreement. During our last conversation, he clearly stated the position we handed over to the Chinese side. Without his political will and authority, it would be impossible today,-said Bessent during a press briefing in Madrid.
Diplomats of both countries have held a number of meetings in Spain to discuss trade and technological aspects of cooperation. According to the Bessent, who directed the American delegation, the question of Tiktok fate was central to the negotiations.
– Our goal was to create a balanced agreement that would provide China’s interests and guaranteed the US national security. I believe we succeeded. We are open to Chinese investments, but the country’s security remains an absolute priority, – the minister emphasized.
On the same day, on September 15, Donald Trump posted a call on his Truth Social page that testified to the final agreement.

- On June 30, Donald Trump on Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News reported finding buyers for the American part of Tiktok. According to him, it is a “group of extremely successful businessmen”.
