The most active phase of passenger transportation continues. Ukrzaliznytsia has published official information on schedule and conditions of opening tickets for domestic and international routes in a special announcement.

Internal routes Tickets for trains that run Ukraine are available at 08:00 20 days before the scheduled departure. But there are some cases.

At 08:00 in the morning, 10 days before the start of the trip, starts:

• sale of tickets for Pavlograd, Kherson, Mykolaiv, part of Kramatorsk, Sumy and Chernihiv directions;
• Implementation of tickets for electric trains and diesel trains of the class “Regional train” (routes with rooms 800-899).

Tickets for suburban trains at the ticket offices are available from the date of departure.

International routes The implementation of tickets in the direction of Poland (Przemysl, Helm, Warsaw) starts at 09:00 20 days before the trip. Tickets for routes to Moldova, Slovakia, Austria and Hungary can be purchased from 08:00 in the morning for 20 days. All operations are conducted simultaneously on the Ukrzaliznytsia website and through the mobile application.

“If you do not have time to order a ticket in the peak season, we recommend activating the tracking and automatic purchase function in the app. After connecting the bank card, the system will buy the ticket independently when it appears, given your preferences about the place. To increase the chances of success, avoid excessive filters when setting up.”

How is ticket availability? Initially, one class (JI, coupery, seat) appears on sale. When there are less than four vacancies in a wagon of a certain type, the next wagon of the same class opens. The process lasts until the full distribution of places by flight.

How are the places between stations distributed? Sometimes there are situations where tickets, for example, from Kiev to Lviv for the Kiev-Peremyshl train, but there is an opportunity to buy a ticket for the final stop. The company explained that each station determines the quota of places in all wagons, priority is given to the sale for a full route, regardless of the date of registration. Additionally, the analysis of passenger traffic is performed constantly, and if necessary, wagons are added to popular areas.

“Restrictions on the quotas of the places are automatically removed the day before departure of the train. Information about the free place is updated in real time,” – said Ukrzaliznytsia.

Thus, if 20 tickets are available on the Kiev-Lviv route, and Przemysl is 100, then 24 hours before departure, the number of seats at any intermediate station is equalized with the quota of the endpoint.
