The state has initiated a new mechanism for supporting Ukrainian teachers — the “Money follows the teacher” strategy. She announced this on November 6 head of the government Yulia Svyridenko.
“From now on, each educator will personally make decisions on how to improve and where to improve their qualifications. The state will credit 1,500 hryvnias to the virtual account of each teacher,” said Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko. “This money will be used independently for educational courses that meet their personal needs and professional goals.”
The entire process will be implemented on the state digital platform. Principals, their deputies and teachers working with grades 7–9 of the New Ukrainian School, as well as 10 experimental classes of a senior specialized school, can join the pilot project. Registration for educators on the Vector platform will become available in December 2025 via the specified link. The start of training is planned for the beginning of next year.
“This is a component of the joint initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science and the World Bank. I would like to thank our partners for supporting Ukrainian education, for believing in our teachers – those who create the future of our country every day,” Yulia Svyridenko emphasized.
As reported by the Informant, the Government adopted a program to provide one-time financial assistance in the amount of UAH 6,500 for the most vulnerable categories of citizens within the framework of the “Winter Support” program.
Payments will be made automatically through the Pension Fund. The implementation of the program is planned for the beginning of December. The money can be used for medicines, clothes, shoes. The program will cover more than 660,000 people.
As reported by the Informant, the following will receive a one-time payment in the amount of 6,500 hryvnias:
- families with children;
- families who are guardians of children;
- family-type children’s homes and children from low-income families;
- persons with I group of disabilities from among forced migrants;
- single pensioners.
These funds will be allowed to be spent on food, medicine, warm clothes or paying for utilities.
