While the media focuses on dozens of artists who are regularly heard on radio or Tiktok, there is a much larger world behind the scenes – a huge musical ecosystem. It is large -scale, dynamic, but does not yet have sufficient support points: institutional support, quality educational programs and financial instruments that could ensure sustainable development.

We have a unique opportunity – to invest not only in content and talents, but also in the creation of sustainable structures that form the future of Ukrainian music. Iceberg is already visible, and it depends on us how quickly and efficiently this industry will grow, will gain world recognition and will become one of the key drivers of the economy and culture of Ukraine.

Popular Company Category Date on June 16 Kasta challenges Rozetka. DCH of Yaroslavsky invests $ 120 million in the fight for the online market. How does the company plan to compete with leaders?

Five facts about the Ukrainian music market that should be taken into account.

Musical scene is thousands of active players The NUAM base has 14 124 Ukrainian artists, of whom 8251 has been active at least once in the last year. In the first months of 2025, 5237 artists published their music. It’s not a niche sphere, it’s not just an entertainment industry. It is an economically active sector of the creative industry that integrates into the domestic and foreign markets and has great investment potential.

220 creative associations or labels have been recorded, which represent at least three artists each. In 2025, 1871, the artist produced music through such associations.

It indicates a gradual transition from chaotic Diy-model to the market with institutional interaction. The Spilna Association has recently been registered – association of leading music companies, labels and publishers of Ukraine. This is the first step towards professional self -government in the industry.

Visibility is the main narrow place Of the 27 155 tracks, which came out in the first four months of 2025, 79.7% did not score even 1000 auditions. The remaining 20% generated more than 243 million stress on Spotify. What does this testify? About significant asymmetry in the distribution of attention, as well as the presence of a large reserve of quality that remains outside the focus.

The numbers also show a structural problem at the audience coverage. More than 8800 artists have less than 100 listeners a month, of which more than 5000 – up to 10 listeners. For the most part, it is not a lack of musical quality, but a lack of tools for public presence: distribution, branding, management, visual support.

One of the key reasons for this is the lack of systemic, quality education in the field of music business – from production to marketing and communication. The second reason is the limited funding, especially in the early stages of careers.

Debut without continuing In 2025, 439 new artists appeared, 90% of them remain out of focus – their tracks did not gain 1000 auditions. Among last year’s debutants, 368 artists did not produce any new track, and 66 – completely deleted their music.

This indicates the need for incubation models – from mentoring programs to supporting the first releases. We hope that the response to this challenge will be the platform “on its basis” – a joint project of the Lieblu Romitni and the All -Ukrainian network of the Aurora multimarmarkets, designed to support new Ukrainian music.

Music as a language of resistance, identity and future In 2022, 16.7% of vocal songs were performed in Nuam in Russian. This figure is reduced every year: up to 13.1% in 2023, 9.8% in 2024. For 2025, only 9.1% of Ukrainian artists’ songs were made in Russian.

It is a conscious and gradual transformation that the creators themselves choose. In an environment when the language has become a sensitive point of identity, music sounds more and more Ukrainian. It falls in love with Ukrainian culture, forms a connection with the new generation and brings the modern face of Ukraine to the world.

Charts show only the top In 2025, of more than 27,000 tracks released, only 21% got into Curatorial playlists Spotify from the base of more than 770 playlists. Most releases remain out of the main promotion channels, which significantly limits their potential to finding an audience.

Getting into the chart is more an exception than a rule. All this confirms how important it is to have a complete analytics and an extended understanding of the industry – not only through ratings or faithfulness.
