Ukrainian Currency Strengthens as Dollar and Euro Rates Decline

Following the weekend, Ukraine’s cash currency market has seen a strengthening of the national currency. Both the dollar and euro have decreased in value compared to their rates from the previous Friday.

Key Highlights:

  • The dollar’s rate in exchange offices has dropped by 5 to 8 kopecks.
  • The euro’s rate in bank branches has decreased by up to 15 kopecks.
  • The most favorable online dollar purchase rate is offered by “PUMB” at 43.70 UAH.
  • PrivatBank and Oschadbank maintain different rates for in-branch and cashless transactions.

As of Monday morning, April 6, according to the Minfin portal, the average dollar rate in exchange offices has fallen to 43.65 UAH (-5 kopecks) for purchases and 43.50 UAH (-8 kopecks) for sales, in comparison to Friday’s rates.

Similarly, the euro has also lost value. Today, the euro can be purchased for 50.69 UAH, which is 1 kopeck less than at the end of last week. For selling euros, exchange offices are offering a rate of 50.43 UAH (-6 kopecks).

In Ukrainian banks, the beginning of the workweek has also seen a decrease in currency values. As of Monday morning, the average purchase price for the dollar stands at 44.00 UAH (-5 kopecks), while the selling rate is 43.50 UAH (-5 kopecks).

The euro has similarly declined in price compared to last Friday. Today, banks are selling euros for 50.95 UAH (-5 kopecks), with the buying rate at 50.20 UAH (-15 kopecks).

Current Rates in Major Banks:

PrivatBank: In branches, the dollar is priced at 43.90 UAH, while the online rate is slightly higher at 44.05 UAH. For euros, the in-branch rate is 50.80 UAH, but the cashless rate is more favorable at 50.76 UAH.

Oschadbank: Here, the dollar remains steady at 44.00 UAH in branches, while the card rate is 44.10 UAH. The most advantageous option for purchasing currency is through the mobile app, where the rate is 43.95 UAH.

PUMB: In bank branches, the dollar is available for 43.90 UAH, but online purchases are significantly cheaper at 43.70 UAH. The euro in branches today is priced at 50.80 UAH, while cashless transactions are at 50.60 UAH.

Monobank: The dollar selling rate is set at 43.95 UAH, and the euro can be bought for 50.75 UAH.
