Ukraine’s Energy System Stabilizes, No Power Cuts Planned for April 5

On April 5, Ukraine’s energy authorities have confirmed that there will be no scheduled power outages across the country. The energy system is currently functioning steadily, ensuring that both residential and industrial consumers receive adequate electricity supply.

Energy officials have indicated that measures to limit consumption are not anticipated for the upcoming day. However, they have advised citizens to practice prudent energy use, suggesting that the operation of high-power appliances be limited to daytime hours, specifically between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

In recent weeks, the Ukrainian energy system has been under increased strain due to the impacts of Russian military attacks. Notably, on April 4, energy providers also reported no plans for consumption restrictions, indicating a degree of stabilization over the weekend.

Previously, on March 24, the country experienced scheduled hourly power cuts as the system worked to recover from a significant assault on energy generation and transmission facilities. In response to these challenges, the government has begun preparations for the next heating season, with Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal announcing plans for the construction of new generation facilities with a total capacity of 1.3 GW.

Experts, including Alexander Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, have warned that under realistic scenarios, certain consumption limitations may persist for several years until the energy system is fully restored.

Ukraine's energy system is currently stable, with no power cuts planned for April 5. Authorities encourage responsible energy consumption while preparing for future challenges.
