Ukraine is not a weapons testing ground, but a sovereign and independent state. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted this on his social networks on Sunday, November 24.

– Ukraine is not a testing ground for weapons. Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state. But Russia still continues its efforts to destroy our people, sow fear and panic, and weaken us, he wrote.

The head of state added that Ukraine needs more air defense, and it is working on it with partners.

Zelenskyi also said that the air alert signal sounded almost every day throughout Ukraine this week, November 18-24.

– This night alone, our air defense forces managed to shoot down about 50 attack drones. During the week, Russia used more than 800 guided aerial bombs, about 460 attack drones and more than 20 missiles of various types against Ukraine and our people, the president said.

  • On November 21, Vladimir Putin announced that Russia had struck the Dnieper with a new medium-range Oreshnik ballistic missile.
  • On November 22, the Ukrainian mass media reported with reference to sources in the General Staff of the Armed Forces that Ukraine is working on obtaining air defense systems capable of shooting down intercontinental missiles.
