The head of the Free Democratic Party believes that such a proposal could be successful.

This was stated by the head of the faction, Christian Dürr, in an interview with the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung.“It would be possible. And I can well imagine, looking at the statements of the CDU/CSU and the Greens, that such a proposal could be successful,” he told reporters.
According to Dürr, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is distorting the facts about the collapse of the country’s ruling coalition.
“He wanted to receive an additional three billion euros for Ukraine, which I promised him. With a budget of 488 billion, it would be quite feasible. But not the 15 billion that Scholz wanted, in order to implement SPD projects with the remaining 12 billion.” shared the chairman of the Free Democratic Party.
Durr emphasized in a conversation with journalists that Ukraine needs weapons, not money. Therefore, he called for the transfer of Taurus cruise missiles to Kyiv.
The collapse of Germany’s ruling coalition – what is knownAs UNIAN wrote, on November 6, the “traffic light” coalition broke up in Germany. This followed the dismissal of Finance Minister Christian Lindner by Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
Later it turned out that the reason for the differences between Scholz and Lindner was a different approach to helping Ukraine. The former finance minister of Germany insisted on the supply of Taurus missiles, and the chancellor intended to allocate three billion euros to Kyiv.
Social Democrats and opposition lawmakers reached an agreement on the date of early elections. According to government officials familiar with the progress of the negotiations, they will take place in February 2025.
