Due to the opening of navigation in ports, iron ore became the leader in terms of export volumes.
“For all 366 days of last year, we exported goods worth $41.627 billion. This is $5.44 billion more than in 2023, which means an increase of exactly 15%,” the Deputy Minister said on his Facebook page.
Taras Kachka added that Ukraine can boast of growth in all main export categories. Due to the opening of navigation in ports, iron ore became the leader in terms of export volumes (33.6 million tons). Compared to the previous year, the growth was 89%.
The second largest volume was corn (29 million tons). Here the growth was 12.3%. If we talk about poultry meat, exports in this category increased by 5.6% to 448.4 thousand tons.
Export of cable products increased by 60% and amounted to 1.27 billion dollars.
The increase in revenue from the export of basic metallurgical goods amounted to:
- semi-finished products – 52% ($927 million);
- hot-rolled steel – 38.9% ($809 million);
- pipes – 125% ($590 million);
- cast iron – 6.1% ($500 million);
- bars – 19.3% ($156 million).
Also last year there was an increase in the export of confectionery products. In particular, the increase in revenue from chocolate amounted to 38%.
There are good indicators in the light industry as well. “The export of suits, sets, jackets, pants, overalls for men amounted to $99 million,” said the deputy minister.
According to him, Ukrainian exports are becoming increasingly Euro-centric – exports to the European Union increased by 5.9% and amounted to $24.7 billion.
Among the EU countries, the most goods were delivered to Poland ($4.7 billion), Spain ($2.8 billion), Germany ($2.8 billion), the Netherlands ($1.98 billion) and Italy ($1.93 billion).
