SoftServe co -owner Taras Kitsmey and the co -founder of New Mail Volodymyr Pospeshnyuk profess different approaches to private (and not only) investments.
Kitsmey combines financial benefits with pleasure and boldly goes beyond the traditional IT for himself, and Preszeshnyuk prefers to invest in what he knows the best – in the “new mail”.

What do the capital invest in successful businessmen? They spoke about it on Lviv Invest Forum during a public interview with the editor -in -chief of Forbes Ukraine Boris Davidenko.
As the Kitsmey invests: puts money into what likes 2013 for the SoftServe co -owner Taras Kitsmei was a landmark: after 16 years of work in the company he left the post of CEO and left the operating business. “I have become a free agent,” says Kitsmey.
The company still remains its main asset, and basic investments go there. Outside of her, Kitsmei invests 10-20% of personal capital and is proud that no personal investment is outside Ukraine.
The departure from the Operations encouraged the entrepreneur to try on the role of the investor outside the technological sector. The first test is Bachevsky’s restaurant in Lviv. You need to invest in what you like, Kitsmey considers. In Bachevsky, he implemented this principle for full: testing of new dishes and fillings, new acquaintances and even working as a waiter on Celner Day.
“We do not measure everything with money, though it is also a good score for the scoreboard,” says SoftServe co -owner.
Taras Kitsmey
From fresh projects, Kitsmey calls investments in the resort “Play”. All previous investments in IT brought value to Western society, and now it is about the benefits of the society in which you live, he says.
“I have such investments, very social, which I even doubt that they will come back. For example, Lem Station: Revitalization of a historical tram depot in Lviv. We took a 50 -year -old tram depot. They promised to invest $ 3-5 million-and the tram depot will work in a new way,-says Kitsmey. “And today more than $ 10 million has been invested. The return of investments is very falling, but there will be a new event hall, in the late 2025 we will open the next turn.”
Speaking of passive investments in the stock market, Kitsmei allocates investments in US government bonds. The investment in securities have the peculiarity: it is necessary to get out of them on the rise of the market, and therefore, it cannot be done at any time.
SoftServe does not plan to become a public company because it is more difficult to manage it, says Kitsmey.
The secret of Porzhnyuk’s investment: why start to start with yourself Three years ago, Volodymyr Porzhnyuk and #Vyacheslav Klimov, as well as the founder of Fedoriv Group, Andrey Fedorov launched a Vesna Capital venture. Since then, the Fund has invested more than € 5 million in 23 technological startups, Fedorov noted earlier.
“This allows you to look at other entrepreneurs from above, and on itself,” says Porzhnyuk.
The experience of Vesna Capital has shown a businessman: to be an investor more difficult than an entrepreneur. After all, the entrepreneur knows his business and the sector in which he works, and even at the intuitive level understands where to invest. Whereas the investor invests money in the industry he knows superficially.
Because of Vesna Capital, he “trains investor skills.” It also has accumulation in gold. However, fixed capital invests in its own company. The annual New Mail investment budget is $ 200-300 million, while outside the company invests less than 1%.
A good entrepreneur is not equal to a good investor and vice versa, because these are two different roles, says the co -owner of New Mail. When these roles intersect “in one head”, the balance is broken.
“Vladimir capitalist transmits investments to the Vladimir to the Vladimir to manage them favorably,” says PORSESHNYUK. -And often I catch myself thinking that the Vladimir capitalist burns the Vladimir entrepreneur. Having a lot of money, the entrepreneur makes mistakes and ceases to value capital. ”
In the end, every entrepreneur should become investo Rum, the question is only when it happens: at 20 years, because it is a born investor, or at 80, when the business is no longer enough, the businessman says.

At first, the restriction of the capital of “New Mail” served as an incentive for the most effective decisions, recalls Prizhnyuk. He adds that the company has departed from it, but now changes its investment strategy.
“Looking at the investment of large funds in significant objects, I wonder: was it worth it? Could you find another funding path? Rent, franchising, partners’ money, ”says New Mail co -owner.
“Somewhere in 70% of investments I could not make, could find other ways to do the same,” he adds.
Now Nova Poshta is fully reviewing the sorting system strategy. Previously, the company built the largest sorting centers in Europe, now such complex Western systems require expensive service. Plus the problem with installation: European experts do not come to Ukraine, they have to install them through online consultations. “But you pay them any the same,” – states Porchnyuk. Instead, the company is betting on a robotization, and it’s cheaper.
“That is, I do the same thing, only a hundred times cheaper, and I think constantly: should I do it with my own money?” – says Porzhnyuk.
Start with investment, a businessman advises. Investments depend on the amount. The less important the amount is, the easier you make this decision.
Investing with other entrepreneurs and other companies is a big risk that cannot be controlled. “I can only be responsible for my company,” he says. – And in the conservation of capital – you need to invest in what you understand. ”
