US President Donald Trump has found buyers for the American TikTok segment and will announce them in two weeks. He stated this in an interview with Fox News, Maria Bartiromo in her Sunday Morning Futures.

Trump noted that “China’s approval is likely to be required and I think President SI is likely to do it. This is a group of very wealthy people. ”

The TikTok social network belongs to the Chinese company Bytedance. In the spring of 2024, the House of Representatives of the US Congress approved the law that Allows you to prohibit the use of TikTok social network in the country if it is not allocated from the Chinese company by BYTEDANCE.

Congressmen believed that Tiktok was a threat to national security, as the Chinese government could force bytedance to pass it on to American users. In April 2024, the document was signed by US President Joe Biden, and in January 2025, a few days before Trump’s inauguration, the US Supreme Court supported the law.

Following inauguration, Trump issued a decree instructed by the US Attorney General to delay the entry into force of 75 days. He stated that Tiktok would be able to continue working in the US, provided 50% of shares have been transferred to US companies.

On April 2, The New York Times, citing sources, reported that Amazon at the last moment applied for the acquisition of the US TikTok unit in Chinese bytedance. It also suggested that TikTok’s potential buyers could be Ilon Musk.
