In April, the number of references to the term “cryptocurrency” in the reports submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) increased to the record 786. For the month this figure increased 38%, and in annual terms – by 8%, reports The Block.
For comparison, from January 2024 to March 2025, the average value was 457 mentions per month.
The publication connects a burst of activity with increased attention from federal agencies to digital assets. The strengthening of efforts to clarify regulatory approaches to cryptography is also noted.
The number of mentions of steiblcoins is recorded separately. If from January 2024 to January 2025 they were mentioned on average 48 times a month, then in February-April 2025 this figure increased to 103 mentions: 81-in February, 124-in March, 104-in April.
This, according to analysts, indicates an increase in interest in the standards of reservation of “stable coins” and consumer protection. In the case of formalization of such requirements, trust in the digital asset market may increase, which will contribute to the further introduction of cryptocurrencies.
