The new commemorative coin has a denomination of 10 hryvnias / UNIAN collage, photo – NBU, UNIANThe National Bank issued a new commemorative coin dedicated to Archangel Michael.“We are ending this numismatic year with the release of a commemorative coin dedicated to Archangel Michael. The use of this image for our coins has already become traditional. After all, Ukrainians consider Archangel Michael the patron saint of victors who fight for a righteous cause. It is the image of this saint that is present in the paraphernalia of the Ukrainian troops and symbolizes the fight against evil,” the regulator said in a statement.
The coin has a denomination of 10 hryvnias and is made of 999 silver. On the obverse, against the background of the pattern from the drawing of the camouflage sample of 2014, also known by the unofficial name “Pixel”, is depicted a stylized laurel wreath, symbolizing glory and victory.
On the reverse of the coin, Archstrategist Mykhailo is depicted on a mirror background, and on the right and left are stylized silhouettes of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, rotorcraft and anti-tank hedgehogs, which compositionally emphasize the struggle for independence.
The circulation of the coin will be up to 10,000 pieces. Commemorative coins will be sold in the online store during January as they are shipped by the Banknote and Mint of the NBU. Implementation by distributor banks will be carried out gradually after receipt of commemorative coins from the NBU.
