However, its ski resorts also have a reputation of not being the cheapest.

However, according to a recent Lonely Planet rating, the best budget ski resort in Europe in 2024 is located in Italy – the alpine village of Sestriere, located in the heart of the Via Lattea ski area.

According to the author of the rating, outdoor expert Tamara Ginson, this resort offers tourists a brilliant return for all the money paid, thanks in part to its location in the heart of Via Latea, a ski resort that includes eight interconnected ski resorts in the Piedmont region and has 400 kilometers of slopes, some of which connect to the ski resort of Montgenèvre in France. At the same time, thanks to its high mountain location, snow is guaranteed in Sestriere. At the same time, the average daily cost of a ski pass here is 28 euros.

“As a bonus, it’s famous for its Italian cuisine, and the excellent restaurants on the slopes offer excellent value for money – check out Ristorante Pizzeria Da Costa for some amazing pizza at a low price,” adds the expert.
