British intelligence called the attack of the Ukrainian defense forces on the Russian Aviation-2 air base on the night of March 20, the most successful blow to Russia since the beginning of 2025. This is stated in the report of the UK Ministry of Defense.
– This blow has become the most successful attack of Ukraine on the Russian ammunition warehouse in 2025 and continues the tendency of regular blows to Ukrainian drones into the depths of Russia. It also emphasizes the constant difficulties that the Overloaded Russian air defense system, trying to protect its strategic military facilities, – the department said.
In intelligence, they added that, according to preliminary information, a large number of aviation ammunition used against Ukraine was stored on the affected area. Damage caused can significantly affect the ability of the base to perform striking tasks in the near future, forcing the Russian Federation to strengthen defensive measures and replenish ammunition.
