Tripartite consultations between Ukraine, the USA and the Russian Federation regarding the end of the war continue, and so far none of the parties has shown a desire to leave this process.
VIDEO OF THE DAY
About this was reported by Valery Klochok, the head of the “Vezh” Social Analytics Center, in an interview for “24 Kanal”.
According to the expert, the main decisions still depend on one person in the Kremlin. The development of consultations indicates a gradual transition of the conflict to a cease-fire scenario, and the role of Europe in this process is becoming less and less significant.
“Europe also wants to join, but today it has become a secondary actor. The issue of war is slowly moving towards freezing, despite Europe’s efforts to influence the process, as it is unable to restrain Russia on its own,” Klochok noted.

The analyst emphasized that the group of the new US President Donald Trump, especially Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, is confident in the Kremlin’s readiness to conclude a treaty. the Russians probably need a pause, realizing the depletion of their resources, but the main lever of US influence is aimed at Beijing.
The White House is discussing the introduction of 500% tariffs on countries that facilitate trade with Russia. First of all, it will affect China, whose help is extremely important for Moscow’s war. Thus, the Trump administration is trying to indirectly influence Putin’s decisions.
Despite economic pressure and diplomatic efforts, rapid progress should not be expected. According to Klochka, the main obstacle to the establishment of a just peace remains the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

“Most likely, Putin will not end the war against Ukraine in the near future, because peace depends on him,” the expert noted.
The Kremlin agrees to negotiate only on its own terms, which are currently completely unacceptable to the Ukrainian authorities. Therefore, even the direct contacts of Trump’s representatives with Putin do not yet guarantee the end of the confrontation.
As “Facty” already wrote, Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with three envoys of US President Donald Trump about possible ways to stop the war against Ukraine. The Kremlin described the meeting as “thorough, constructive and confidential.” During the negotiations, Putin clearly outlined Moscow’s position: without a solution to the territorial issue, there can be no question of a long-term settlement of the war.
