Gerzhikovsky is known as the founder of the sheepplace sheepplace Marketplace, which was closed in 2013. In 2017, he received a nine-year prison term, but in 2021 he was released on parole.
After leaving prison, he tried to return the confiscated equipment, including a laptop with a bitcoin paman, where about 1560 BTC was stored. The trial was delayed, but in March 2025, Gerzhikovsky donated the government 468 BTC (30%) of these assets through his lawyer.
This incident caused a large -scale corruption scandal in the Czech Republic, which ended with the resignation of Justice Minister Pavel Blazek. The opposition accused him of receiving a bribe and opaque selling assets.
Gerzhikovsky is currently in custody. He is charged with two criminal episodes – from 2015 and 2025, related to laundering criminal income.
A fresh statement of the authorities also states that the police decided to confiscate cryptocurrency, which was on the wallet of the Ministry of Justice and is recognized as income from criminal activity.
