Elisa Rossi, the ex-wife of Solana co-founder Stephen Akridge, sued him for failure to pay staking proceeds during the divorce proceedings.
Married couple filed for divorce in March 2023 after 10 years of marriage. According to the terms of the agreement, Rossi owned a share of the joint savings in SOL tokens. Because of how “caustic and drawn out” the process was, she agreed to 25% instead of the standard 50%.
According to her, Akridge gave access to three accounts where the assets were kept. At the same time, he allegedly secretly continued to receive income from the token stakebook, earning “millions of dollars”. Rossi discovered this “months later”.
According to the lawsuit, throughout 2024, she repeatedly asked Akridge to return the money, but he refused. Rossi believes the ex-husband wanted to take advantage of her limited knowledge of cryptocurrencies and embezzle the funds.
The specific amount was not disclosed. The parties to the conflict have not yet publicly commented on the process.
The case is pending in San Francisco Superior Court and includes five counts, including breach of contract, unjust enrichment and fraud.
At the time of writing, the SOL token is trading at $190. Capitalization is $91.52 billion.
