The dollar has moved away from the maximum in Ukraine: the official exchange rate for Tuesday

The exchange rate of the dollar is set at the level of 42.37/42.41 hryvnias/dollar. / UNIAN collage, UNIAN photo, ReutersOn Tuesday, January 14, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate of the dollar to the hryvnia at the level of UAH 42.27/dollar, i.e. the hryvnia strengthened by 1 kopeck compared to the previous indicator.

As for the European currency, the hryvnia strengthened its position more significantly. According to the data on the website of the regulator, the official exchange rate of the euro for Tuesday is set at 43.13 hryvnias for one euro, that is, the hryvnia strengthened by 44 kopecks.

On the interbank foreign exchange market of Ukraine, by 4:00 p.m., hryvnia to dollar quotes were set at UAH 42.37/42.41/dollar, euro – UAH 43.24/43.27/euro.

Exchange rates in Ukraine – the latest news The exchange rate of the dollar to the hryvnia at “PrivatBank” on January 13 did not change and is UAH 42.98 per dollar. The euro rate decreased by 5 kopecks and is UAH 44.50 per euro. You can sell American currency in the bank at the rate of UAH 42.38, and euros at the rate of UAH 43.50 per unit of foreign currency.

The dollar hit a two-year high against major currencies. On January 13, the euro fell 0.6% to $1.0187. The Financial Times writes that the dollar index, which tracks the rate of the US currency against a basket of major currencies, reached its highest level since November 2022.

In addition, analysts of Goldman Sachs Group Inc. changed their forecasts for the dollar. A strong US economy and likely tariff hikes could slow down monetary policy easing.
