The Agency for Search and Asset Management (ARMA) has already sold 70 paintings from the collection of former deputy Viktor Medvedchuk. Among the sold works is an amber portrait of Medvedchuk himself. This information was provided by Andriy Pozniak, adviser to the chairman of ARMA.
– ARMA continues to sell paintings from the traitor’s collection. Since the beginning of implementation, 70 paintings have already gone off the hammer. Among them is the famous amber portrait of a bear. Auctions continue. The portrait was sold for UAH 6,009, which is even more than the starting price, which was UAH 5,225. This is one of the cheapest paintings in the collection. But the main thing is that the funds from the sale of all paintings go directly to the economy and the defense capability of the state. What the new owner will do with this “object of art” is still unknown, said Pozniak.
In total, Viktor Medvedchuk’s collection of paintings includes 285 works, which were divided into two categories: 149 paintings were recognized as cultural value and valuable, and the remaining 136 were valued at almost 4 million hryvnias. The paintings, which became part of the cultural heritage of Ukraine, were supposed to be transferred to museums, but the draft law providing for this was not adopted in the Verkhovna Rada.
- On October 31, the Agency for Search and Asset Management (ARMA) announced that they plan to sell a collection of paintings belonging to former People’s Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk at the “Prozorro” auction. Currently, 35 lots have already been published on the platform.
- On October 15, the last 20 Viktor Medvedchuk watches were sold at auction. Four participants fought for the Dolce&Gabbana wristwatch, which belonged to a former deputy. The final price of the watch was 285 thousand hryvnias.
