The prosecutor’s office defended in court the return of the wing of Tereshchenko Manor to municipal ownership of Kyiv. The Northern Appellate Economic Court did not change the decision of the court to return the areas contained in the architectural monument of the end of the 19th century, which had previously been illegally transferred to a private organization. The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office informs about this, reports UNN.
The Northern Commercial Court of Appeal, in a case brought by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, upheld the decision to return to the territorial community of Kyiv the areas that are located in the wing of the mansion of the philanthropist Ivan Tereshchenko

The Tereshchenko estate, which is an architectural heritage site, was built at the end of the 19th century. All its buildings form a single ensemble in the style of Venetian Gothic. Ivan Tereshchenko, a sugar factory, philanthropist, art collector, lived in the estate.
In 1917-1918, part of its rooms were used for officials of the Ukrainian Central Council and the Ministry of Communications of the Ukrainian People’s Republic.
At the same time, in 2006-2008, on the basis of a number of agreements, the Manor was registered in the ownership of a private company, which did not take measures for its restoration and preservation.


The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office appealed to the Commercial Court of the City of Kyiv with a lawsuit to return the area of the wing of the Tereshchenko Manor to communal ownership. The court supported the prosecution’s claim. At that moment, this decision was supported by the court of appeal.
