Every month, Ukrainians must inform about the indicators of electricity, gas and water supply meters. This is important because the amount in the accounts is formed based on these values. In the event of a delay or failure to provide information at all, the supply company will calculate the consumption “on average”, and the final cost may be higher than what was actually used. Information from the electricity meter should be sent two days before the end of the month, or within 3 days of the following month. So, at the moment, the best period: January 29-31 or February 1-3, 2026
If you send the information late, then the amount of consumption will be determined based on the average daily indicator.
How to report electricity data This can be done in several convenient ways:
- in the personal account on the OSR website;
- by calling the OSR call center (phone numbers);
- by writing to OSR through chat bots (Viber, Telegram, Facebook Messenger);
- in online utility payment services and banking applications.
An important detail: only numbers on a black background are read from the meter. Red numbers do not need to be sent.
How and when to report gas data Data from the gas meter are usually received monthly from the 28th to the 5th. It is recommended to send the information exactly during this period of time so that it is taken into account correctly.
Information from the gas meter can be reported in various ways – it all depends on the company that supplies gas. Information about your supplier can usually be found in the bill: there are call center contacts and a QR code. After scanning it, it is possible to quickly go to the chatbot in Telegram or Viber and send the current indicators.
For those who do not use online services, the usual option remains – to contact a banking institution or the subscriber department of the gas service and inform the operator of the necessary numbers in person.
When and how to report water meter data Data from cold and hot water meters are usually submitted by the 28th of each month. This can be done through the personal account of the official website of the Central Bank of Ukraine, by using a chatbot in Telegram or Viber, by calling the operator’s hotline or in the Privat24 application. The principle is the same as with electricity – you need to read only the “black” numbers, i.e. those indicated up to the decimal point on the meter. If there is no comma, still aim for a dark background.
Remember It is worth taking into account that it is necessary to send meter readings even in cases when you do not temporarily live in an apartment or house and do not use gas, water or electricity. Data should also be reported if the meter readings remain the same from month to month. This is necessary so that the calculations are carried out correctly and without the use of averaged indicators.
