Researchers at Jones Hopkins University have introduced a Shi model that surpassed doctors to identify risks of sudden cardiac death (RCC). The work was published in Nature journals.
The Maars (Multimodal AI for Ventricular Arrhythmia Risk Stratification) system analyzes the contrasting MRI-hearts of the heart together with a complete set of medical records, revealing critical patterns of scarring (fibrosis) that remain out. It is fibrosis that increases the likelihood of fatal arrhythmias, but doctors often cannot find the appropriate signs.
“Today, some patients are killed in the prime of their forces because they have not received protection and others are forced to live with implanted defibrillators,” said Natalia Trajanova, a co -author of the study.
In testing at Jones Hopkins and Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute in North Carolini, Si-Model, 89% of all patients and 93% in the 40 and 60-year-old group. For comparison, the clinical recommendations in the US and the EU show about 50% accuracy.

“The study demonstrates that the SI-model significantly improves our ability to predict risks compared to our current algorithms,” said Cardiologist Jonathan Krispin.
According to scientists, Maars not only predicts the risk, but also explains the causes of increased danger, which allows doctors to personalize the approach to treatment.
The team plans to expand the testing and apply the system to diagnose other diseases, including the heart sarcoidosis and arrhythmogenic right ventricle dysplasia.
Recall that Microsoft researchers have presented a SI system capable of effectively solving clinical cases that are difficult even for experienced doctors.
