Against this background, Ukrainians are concerned about whether to buy or sell currency now.Oleg Pendzyn, a member of the economic discussion club, advises making money in hryvnias in his comments to TSN. According to him, funds can be invested in domestic state loan bonds (OVDP) for three months. At the same time, he noted that if you have small amounts on hand – up to 10 thousand hryvnias, then it is better to pay attention to short-term deposits.
For his part, financial analyst Andrii Shevchyshyn believes that now is a good time to buy the dollar, because in the long term you can make a profit due to the increase in the exchange rate.
“Cash currency at home is long-term savings that are always at hand. Those who want to have a profit faster should buy OVDP bonds or take hryvnias to the bank for deposits,” the expert advised.
At the same time, economist Andrii Zablovsky continues to insist on diversification of investments.
“Currently, about 40% of savings can be invested in short-term hryvnia deposits or in OVDP, the rest – in dollars or euros. Also, in Ukraine, investments in projects are already available, which can give a much higher profit than traditional ones, but require a certain level of financial literacy. There is many different cryptocurrencies, real estate investment funds, etc.,” the economist said.
At the same time, none of the experts advises selling the currency now.
The dollar exchange rate in Ukraine – the expert’s forecast until the end of MarchSerhiy Mamedov, vice-president of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, chairman of the board of Globus Bank, believes that in the first quarter of 2025, the exchange rates of the dollar and the euro are unlikely to get out of control.
According to his forecast, in the first months of 2025, it will not be considered a disaster if at the end of March the exchange rate is in the corridor of 42-42.8 hryvnias per dollar.
