Satoshi’s stolen statue was removed from the Swiss Lake

In the Swiss city of Lugano, city services were pulled out of the lake by a statue dedicated to Satoshi Nakamoto – a pseudonym creator of bitcoin.

This was reported by Satoshigallery, which has installed similar statues in Salvador and Japan and plans eighteen more. The author of the installation is Italian artist Valentina Pikotsi.

User X under Nica Gritto suggested that it was an act of vandalism, committed on August 1 – on the day of the national holiday in Switzerland – drunk young people for the sake of entertainment. The design was welded to the pedestal in only two places.

Satoshigallery earlier declared a reward of 0.1 BTC (about $ 11,400) for the return of the sculpture. But since the police found it, the award will not be paid to anyone, the gallery representatives explained in a comment for The Block.

Meanwhile, a petition appeared on the Change.org platform with a call to the city council to support the restoration of the statue. According to the initiators, the artist and the Satoshigallery team are ready to make a new version and take on costs – provided that the installation is securely fixed.

Recall that in June Protocol Guild, Shutter Network and Ethereum Community Conference announced the plan to create a “time capsule” with records in the Ethereum blockchain for the decade of the network.
