“Ukrainian Pravda” presented its second ever ranking of leaders — a hundred Ukrainians who make the greatest contribution to Ukraine’s independence and future.
Ruslan Shostak, president of the TERWIN corporation, founder and co-owner of the EVA and VARUS networks, entered the top 100 ranking of the most influential Ukrainians according to the publication. His activity became an example of a significant contribution to strengthening independence, supporting the economic front and building a strong future of the country.
“My main task as a businessman was and still is to prepare business and people for various scenarios of the development of events, so that there is no panic and chaos, and despite everything, so that the business continues to function,” says Ruslan Shostak.
By the time the war began, EVA and VARUS warehouses had been stocked with supplies, generators had been procured, and psychologists had been staffed to minimize human stress once a full-scale invasion had begun.
At the very beginning of the war, on the initiative of the first ladies of two countries — Ukraine and Turkey — a decision was made to take away Ukrainian orphans in order to save them. Ruslan Shostak took over all organizational issues and organized the evacuation and accommodation of orphans in Turkey at his own expense. Subsequently, a Foundation was established, joined by international partners who helped support the children in Turkey for three years.
This evacuation entered the World Book of Records and became the only example of private financing of the stay of Ukrainian children abroad.
The Ruslan Shostak Foundation also became an official partner of the army in providing wheeled transport through the single national platform “HeroCar”. He developed a system of uninterrupted delivery of pickup trucks from Europe to Ukraine. At a time when it seemed that there were no used SUVs left in the world, the necessary cars continue to be delivered to the front as part of the HeroCar project.
A year ago, the businessman merged assets into the TERWIN corporation in order to scale the successful experience of existing projects. In 2023, the corporation paid UAH 3 billion in taxes, invested UAH 3 billion in development from 2021, and directed UAH 570 million to support the army and charity since the beginning of the full-scale war.
Today, the corporation is working on the implementation of one of the largest investment projects in Ukraine — the large-scale construction of WINHUB logistics hubs on 1 million square meters in Odesa, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv regions. The amount of investments is more than $700 million. This is an innovative project with renewable energy sources, a full cycle of recycling and waste disposal, complex infrastructure and jobs.
Ruslan Shostak’s contribution to the development of Ukraine has been recognized with numerous awards. He received the Order of Merit III degree for strengthening interstate cooperation, support of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, a significant contribution to the popularization of the Ukrainian state in the world, the “Manager of the Year” award for the best management decisions during the war, as well as Thanks from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for a significant contribution and active assistance to the army.
“Thank you to the UP publication for such an extremely responsible role – to be in the UP100 rating next to incredible leaders who prove every day with real actions that Ukraine will certainly stand up in this difficult struggle. For me, as a business representative, what is important is not the status, but the real I am sure that in these extremely difficult times for the whole country, joint projects of business, government and society are of particular importance UP100 is a huge responsibility. After all, it is the participants of such a large-scale rating that must demonstrate stability and, in fact, create the future of an independent and strong Ukraine,” shared Ruslan Shostak, president of the TERWIN corporation.
