Now that this lawsuit is behind us, will the company try to raise fresh capital through an initial public offering (IPO)? From September 2025 in Ripple Labs new CEO: Eric Long . He is faced with the difficult task of overcoming the legal problems of his predecessor, Brad Garlinghouse which was ordered to pay $10 million to the SEC for selling unregistered XRP as securities.
In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Eric Long was asked about possible IPO Ripple. But the new CEO said that’s it for now not planned at all .
“We have no plan, we have no deadlines [для IPO]. Currently, this issue is not considered. (…) We have enough cash and we are focused on the development of the company.”
Ripple is focused on the development of its business, in particular in the field of CBDC. Indeed, as the CEO points out, Ripple still has enough cash . In particular, the company attracted 200 million dollars in January 2023 during Series C funding round.
Eric Long explains that Ripple prefers focus on growing your business . And among them, the new CEO points out that digital currencies of central banks ( CBDC ) is a priority.
“We think CBDC is a great opportunity for us. We have made significant investments in this area. (…) We also invested in the tokenization of traditional financial assets.”
Ripple is indeed already conducted several CBDC tests with central banks. For example, in July 2023, the company announced a partnership with Central Bank of Montenegro for an experiment with a digital version of the national currency, Montenegrin euro .
