The Pyth Network project introduced a new on-chain oracle, Lazer, which is capable of providing market data with an update time of just 1 millisecond. The solution is focused on sensitive to application delays such as high-frequency trading, derivatives and perpetual futures.

According to the developers, Pyth Lazer will make it possible to minimize computing costs with maximum performance. The service will run on multiple blockchain environments, including EVM and the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), and will add support for other networks in the future.

Oracle supports up to 1,000 different price channels and offers detailed information about them, including market depth, bid-ask spreads.

Users can set the desired refresh rate depending on their needs: 1ms, 50ms and 200ms channel, as well as custom values.

To increase accuracy and security, Pyth Lazer supports chain breaking strategies and leverages diversified data sources from third-party publishers, including leading exchanges, market makers and financial service providers.

Earlier in January, Pyth Network struck a deal with Revolut for the fintech company to provide “quotes and trading data” to the oracle network.
