Police detained the mayor Berdichev on suspicion of receiving a bribe

On Friday, June 20, in Berdichev militiamen detained mayor Sergei Orlyuk in the middle of the street. According to a number of media, he is suspected of bribery. About it reports “Zhytomyr.info”.

Journalists, citing sources, claim that the detention was carried out by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Strategic Investigation Department. According to unconfirmed data, Orlyuk could be delayed at the request of a bribe by a local entrepreneur. There is no official information from law enforcement.

In the comment “Ukrainian Truth” Prescriber of the State Educational Institution Natalia Kalinovskaya confirmed the fact of arresting Orlyuk in the framework of criminal proceedings on the fact of extortion and receiving undue benefit by an official. Serhiy Orlyuk was born on December 30, 1970 in Berdichev. He received a veterinary education at the Tulchyn College, then graduated from the Kyiv National Agrarian University and the Bilotserkiv Agrarian Institute. Prior to his election, he managed his own veterinary clinic “Aibolit” and engaged in private practice for many years. He became the mayor of Berdichev in 2020.
