Philip Morris Launches ZYN Mini Dry Nicotine Pouches in Ukraine

Philip Morris has introduced a new line of nicotine pouches, known as ZYN Mini Dry, in Ukraine. This innovative, smoke-free product is aimed at adult nicotine consumers and is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio of smoke-free offerings.

The ZYN Mini Dry pouches will initially be imported from Sweden, where the primary production facilities are located, with plans to diversify the manufacturing locations in the future.

Maxim Barabash, the General Director of Philip Morris Ukraine, noted that the company invested $5 million in the ZYN brand in Ukraine last year. This investment has led to significant growth in the category and heightened interest among adult consumers. The launch of the Mini Dry line represents a further step in the company’s long-term strategy.

Looking ahead, Philip Morris plans to invest an additional $10 million by 2026 to develop the nicotine pouch category and expand the ZYN Mini Dry line. This investment will focus on broadening the product range, enhancing infrastructure, and increasing consumer awareness.

According to Barabash, the company anticipates a 20% annual growth potential for the nicotine pouch category in Ukraine, prompting continued investment in these innovative products.

Roman Ivanov, Director of New Products at Philip Morris Ukraine, emphasized that nicotine pouches are a rapidly growing category in international markets and are gradually gaining traction in Ukraine. The company aims to expand its portfolio to meet diverse consumer preferences and develop various formats within this category.

The ZYN brand is recognized as one of the leading names in the global nicotine pouch market. It was the first nicotine pouch brand in the United States to receive marketing authorization from the FDA, a milestone that underscores the product’s compliance with international standards and serves as a crucial factor for further investments in ZYN’s development in Ukraine.

ZYN Mini Dry pouches are designed using an innovative technology that sets them apart from traditional pouches. Unlike conventional options, they do not contain water, glycerin, or essential oils, resulting in a “dry” pouch that offers a slower nicotine release and a smoother user experience. Additionally, ZYN Mini Dry pouches are smaller than other options available in Ukraine.

This new line features a less intense flavor profile and a lower nicotine content compared to existing ZYN Slim products. The nicotine strength ranges from 1.5 mg to 6 mg per pouch and includes nine SKUs with three flavor options: sweet mint, mint and menthol, and cherry with vanilla.

The ZYN Mini Dry nicotine pouches consist of small packets filled with cellulose powder, nicotine, and flavorings, packaged in containers of 15. These pouches do not produce smoke, ash, or aerosol during use, nor do they leave any odor or residue on teeth, making them a convenient choice for use in various settings, such as restaurants, offices, airplanes, or trains.

Reasons adult nicotine consumers may choose ZYN include:

  • No smoke, ash, or aerosol.
  • No odor during use.
  • Non-intrusive to those around.
  • Easy to use, requiring no additional actions or devices.

In Ukraine, ZYN products can be purchased at IQOS Space stores and various retail chains, or ordered online with delivery through the official ZYN or IQOS websites.

Important: ZYN is a smoke-free nicotine pouch. Contains nicotine, which is addictive. For adult nicotine consumers only.

Philip Morris has launched its ZYN Mini Dry nicotine pouches in Ukraine, marking a significant step in its strategy to expand smoke-free products. The company plans substantial investments to grow this category, which it anticipates will see considerable growth in the coming years.
