OpenAI has opened the possibility of using advanced voice mode in the web version of ChatGPT. This was announced by the company’s Chief Product Officer, Kevin Weil.

“We launched Advanced Voice Mode in the iOS and Android apps in September, and recently added the feature to PC. Now we’re excited to integrate the web into the mix. This means you can chat with ChatGPT directly from your browser,” he wrote.

The mode is available to users of paid Plus, Enterprise, Teams and Edu subscriptions. Weil promised to open it to everyone in the coming weeks.

ChatGPT uses native audio capabilities to provide natural, real-time communication with users. A chatbot is able to understand and respond to non-verbal cues such as speed of speech or emotion.

To activate the advanced voice mode in the web browser, you need to click on the corresponding icon in the lower right corner of the screen and give permission to access the computer’s microphone.

We will remind you that OpenAI is preparing to launch an AI agent codenamed “Operator”.
